These Bunny Tail Cotton Candy Lemonade drinks make me smile from ear to ear! The “bunny tail” cotton candy sits atop pink lemonade and I found a way to pull this off without it dissolving into the water, which is key to serving this at a party.
Yield: 6 servings
Bunny Tail Cotton Candy Lemonade
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (8-9 lemons)
1 cup superfine sugar, to taste
6 cups water
2 teaspoons grenadine or 2 tablespoons cranberry juice
2 cups ice
cotton candy, various colors (cotton candy can be purchased pre-packaged at candy stores or you can make it easily with relatively inexpensive cotton candy makers on the internet)
Instructions
Mix all ingredients except ice and cotton candy into a large pitcher and stir until the sugar dissolves (you can also use regular sugar and just dissolve it into a little hot water then pour into the pitcher). Add ice to 6 16-ounce mason jars and pour lemonade into jars without going all the way to the top (important so it doesn't touch cotton candy). Pull off bunny tail-shaped fluffs of cotton candy and fit it into the top of the mason jar (make sure you get a big enough fluff so it can push up to all side of the jar and rest there without sinking to the lemonade. Serve!
