I just love this simple, creamy chocolate peppermint heaven of a drink. Candy Cane Cocoa is SO perfect for a freezing cold day like today and it’s ready in minutes. Cozy up to a fire with one!
- 2 cups whole milk
- ½ cup half & half
- 2½ tablespoons sugar
- 4 ounces bittersweet baking chocolate (4 squares), chopped
- ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract
- whipping cream
- 2 candy canes, crushed
- Bring milk, half & half and sugar to a boil over medium-high heat in a heavy saucepan. Immediately turn off heat and stir in chocolate and peppermint extract until blended and all chocolate has melted. Pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed candy canes.
