Campfire Cocoa with Butterscotch The Hopeless Housewife


Campfire Cocoa with Butterscotch

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ¾ cup half & half
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons butterscotch syrup or schnapps for the adults
  • 2-3 large marshmallows
  • butterscotch ice cream topping for drizzling
  • 2 butterscotch candies, crushed for garnish
  1. Bring milk and half & half to a simmer over medium heat in a heavy saucepan. Remove from the heat and whisk in the cocoa, sugar, vanilla and butterscotch. Return to the heat and stir until well blended. Pour into mugs, float the large marshmallow in center. Drizzle with butterscotch topping then sprinkle with crushed candies. Serve.
